Judge's Notes: There is such distance and emotion in this piece and so many elements that were needed to create that sense. Subtle temperature shifts and the soft use of light across the field and on to the people doesn't hold attention too long at one element. Instead you are drawn into the storyline through the perspective and the even lighting throughout. I also really enjoyed the lost edges as the field disappears into the distance. Very beautiful and emotional work.
