CJ (Carole) Jordan has lived in Texas for 42 years; she has lived Bastrop County for the past 35 years. Her husband is a native Texan and they have one daughter and three grandsons.
Photography, Pastel, Watercolor, & Ink Painting are her mediums of choice. She worked as a Career Specialist at Workforce Solutions of Bastrop for the past 22 years. Prior to moving to Bastrop, she worked at the South Jetty Newspaper as a photographer/writer for 8 years and had her own graphic design and custom wood sign business in Port Aransas. CJ has worked at Park City Ski Resort as a ski photographer and graphic artist. She majored in Art and Photography at Utah State University. She has designed the brochures and T-Shirts for International Women’s Day –Bastrop Co. for 10 years and has been a member of the Lost Pines Art League for 14 years & served on the board as secretary for 6 years. She was editor of the Art in the Pines Newsletter for 4 years and Co-Chair of the Salinas Youth Art Contest for 6 years. She is one of the 3 artists at Monarch Art Gallery on Main St., Bastrop.
Her art can be seen at Monarch Art Gallery, Workforce Solutions Center of Bastrop, Bastrop County Courthouse, Bastrop City Hall, Lost Pines Art Center, and many private homes. She has been selected for LPAL Gala Live Auction, a juried show, seven times. She has been selected for 5 juried shows at Texas State in Round Rock and received 3rd place in photography in the 2016 Imagine show. She was picked for Texas Photographic Society’s “International 24” juried show, for A.Smith Gallery’s competition: “Water” & “Abstract,” Perfect Exposure Gallery: “ Day of the Dog,” Photo Gallery’s “Golden Hours,” the Walker Exhibition, Texas Photographic Society’s Member Only Show in 2016, LPAL Juried show in December 2016 & March 2017, 3rd Place Award in the Bastrop Art in Public Places 2D contest in 2017 and 2nd Place in 2018, and 1st Place in the BIAPP Transformer Contest.
Nature is the source for her creativity. She likes to bring a sense of wonder and curiosity to her art. The pines of Bastrop, the mountains of the west, and the coastal waters provide the inspiration for her palette whether it is with brush or through the lens.
