Art is an intregral and joyful part of my life and my desire to create is constant. As an elementary school art teacher I had the privilege of sharing the creative process with many students and later my own wonderfully expressive children and grandchildren. My husband and I live on a 90 foot cliff overlooking a beautiful Texas Hill Country lake where the inspiration to paint is unavoidable. Each day greets me with new views and the challenge of capturing the ever changing water and sky. I find soft pastels, those pretty little pieces of pure pigment, the perfect medium to paint the landscape. The texture, vibrancy, and immediacy of color that can be achieved with pastel continue to fascinate me. Workshops, books, and lessons by accomplished artists have heightened my skills and influenced my work. I am an enthusiastic life long learner. Every painting is a new challenge as I have made the passionate decision to contribute beauty to the world through my art. The attempt certainly keeps me both grateful and humble.
