Dina Gregory's pastel plein air paintings reflect her love for nature. The immediacy of pastels allows the Texas artist to capture fleeting moments of nature's beauty. This passionate southwest painter conveys the connection between God's nature and people!
Dina's sensitivity toward her subject is especially apparent when she paints water and sky or when she focuses on the surprises found in intimate pockets of nature. The pastel artist is adept at using strong values to create drama. Her landscapes are patterned with bright lights and deep darks.
In some of her paintings, Dina documents scenes later destroyed or forever altered by floods, droughts or by humans. Putting this visual history of diverse Texas and other southwest state's landscapes into paintings is integral to her plein air journey.
