Painter, Sculptor | United States Humberto Guanipa My work stems from early memories and first impressions. Relating to our physical evidence and emotional baggage we all carry. The work arises from my subconscious, the process in which I create is both intuitive and spontaneous. There is no preconceived notions. Everything is symbolic: the past, the present, and the future. Freedom belongs to everyone, to the ones on top, those at the bottom, and those that we dispose of. There will always be a division between those who fear reality and those who construct it: and I construct it. I am ultimately a visual poet who transcends the picture and orchestrates a complete performance, a symphony of color and shape that allows the viewer to participate in, bringing their experiences into their Homeric Spaces. Biography Humberto Guanipa was born in Venezuela in 1954. He enrolled in the Air Forces in 1973 where he studied different types of drawings: mechanical, technical, architectural, etc. Afterwards he went to three different visual art school. He has been doing art exhibitions since 1978 in different countries such as Venezuela, Italy, and the United States ( The Paterson Museum, Florence Biennale, "Nexus" Art Gallery, etc.) SOLO SHOWS: 2000-The Venezuela center New York,NY 1998-Nexus Art Gallery New York,NY 1998-The Paterson museum Paterson NJ 1991-Venezuela Consulate New York 1985-Housatonic Museum of Art Bridgeport,ct 1983-Bella Vista Gallery Porlamar,Venezuela 1982-Jarrin Gallery Barquisimeto ,Venezuela 1980-International Gallery Valencia,Venezuela COLLECTIVE SHOWS: 2020-Art Impact InternationalOnline 2018-Carter Burden Gallery New york 2018-Montserrat Contemporary art New York 2014-Florence Biennal Florence,Italy 2002-Kenkeleba Center New York,NY 2001-Rutgers University New Brunswick,NJ 2000-Yeshiva University New York,NY 1998-Venezuela Consulate New York,NY 1998-Tauro College New York,NY 1996-Comm Ground Pier 25 New York,NY 1996-City College New York,NY 1994-Roger Smith Gallery New York,NY 1993-Intrepid Museum New York,NY 1993-New York University Gallery New York,NY 1993-Art Communication Telephone CO.New York,NY
