Marcia is known for her evocative, impressionistic, plein-air pastel landscapes.Born in Rhode Island, she spent many years studying and painting alongside the many painters drawn to New England.
Working on sanded pastel paper , the darker colors are blocked in first , in a loose abstract manner.Building from there, multiple layers are placed down , very lightly, glazing one pastel over the other. She believes this is how she achieves the luminosity and transparency that is evident in her paintings. Deep forest greens , indigo blues and magenta are a signature palette choice for this artist.
Marcia's paintings have won numerous awards , and her work may be found in many private as well as corporate collections such as The New Hampshire Society For The Protection Of Forests.
Marcia resides in Round Rock Texas and continues her passion for plein-air painting, enjoying the beauty of Central Texas.
