Olivia is inspired by the versatility and brilliant colors of pastels. Her passion for painting was realized after she moved overseas, had time to paint and discovered pastels. Being a colorist, she is in awe of Van Gogh's use of colors and style.
She has visited art museums in London, Paris and Amsterdam to see Van Gogh's original paintings. Olivia has traveled to Arles in the south of France where he lived and painted. She also was privileged to visit Auver-sur-oise, north of Paris, where Van Gogh spent his last months before he died. To be able to stand in front of the subjects he painted in both locations was mesmerizing.
Olivia cannot paint sunflowers (her favorite flower) without remembering Vincent
Olivia has won awards overseas and in the U.S. Her paintings are in private collections here and abroad. One of her paintings is permanently displayed in the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
