Robin is an artist living in Bastrop County, Texas. She loves nature and gardening, and loves to paint these things. Local landscapes and native birds and plants are her favorite subjects to paint. She loves to paint en plein air when the Texas heat allows, or when the world allows her to travel.
Robin studied art many years ago at the University of Houston, The University of Texas, Austin Community College and The Art School at Laguna Gloria. She has continued to study and explore art through workshops and classes, including studies with Wanda Gamble, Enid Wood, Mike Beeman, Stan Sperlak, Terri Ford, Marsha Hamby Savage, Marla Baggetta and Rita Kirkman. Through workshops, study and exploration, she has gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about art since she began her serious studies in 2012.
Her paintings have been accepted into juried exhibitions in The Pastel Society of Southeast Texas of the Houston area, the Austin Pastel Society, the Star of Texas Exhibit in Brownwood Texas, the Lost Pines Art League and the Austin Bergstrom Airport exhibition “A Long Migratory Journey”. She has been the featured artist at the Lost Pines Artisans Alliance, Mosaic Art and Home and the Lost Pines Art League. Her painting “Sycamore” was chosen by Beverly Voss for the cover of her 2017 book of poetry Sycamore Skies.
Her work is currently on display at: Lost Pines Artisans Alliance in Smithville Texas; and Mosaic Art and Home in Smithville Texas. She is a member of the Austin Pastel Society, the Central Texas Pastel Society and the Lost Pines Artisans Alliance.
